Course Overview

The Master Rescue Diver course is designed to develop your knowledge and skills to prevent, recognize, and manage diving emergencies. This course is essential for all divers who want to increase their confidence, safety, and ability to assist others. You will learn to handle diver stress, perform rescues, and manage emergency situations both underwater and at the surface, under the direct supervision of a Instructor.

Course Details

  • Course Level: Advanced (Rescue)
  • Min. Age: 15 years
  • Duration: 2–3 days (includes eLearning, confined water, and open water rescue scenarios)
  • Prerequisites: Advanced 35 or Explorer 30 (or equivalent), valid First Aid/CPR (within 2 years)
  • Setting: Confined and open water

What You Will Learn

  • Rescue theory: Stress, accident prevention, and rescue management
  • Self-rescue: Techniques to avoid and handle personal emergencies
  • Assisting others: Recognizing diver stress, surface and underwater rescue, missing diver procedures
  • Emergency management: First aid, oxygen administration, and accident protocols

Logistics & Prerequisites

Included:

  • Full rental equipment (mask, fins, suit, BCD, regulator, tank, weights)
  • eLearning and digital certification card
  • Instructor-led confined and open water rescue scenarios

Not Included:

  • Personal items (towel, swimwear, logbook)
  • First Aid/CPR course

Requirements:

  • Certification: Advanced 35 or Explorer 30 (or equivalent)
  • First Aid/CPR: Valid certificate (within 2 years)
  • Age: Minimum 15 years
  • Medical: Complete medical questionnaire before any in-water activity. Medical clearance if required by questionnaire.
  • Registration: Complete online registration and liability releases prior to in-water activities

Training Schedule

  1. eLearning: theory modules and quizzes
  2. Confined Water: rescue skills and scenario practice
  3. Open Water: rescue scenarios and emergency management

Notes:

  • Instructor/student ratio: 1:2
  • All rescue scenarios are conducted under direct instructor supervision
