Course Overview

The Wreck and Wreck Advanced courses teach you to safely plan and conduct dives on and around shipwrecks. The Wreck course covers external survey, hazards, and safety procedures, while the Advanced course introduces limited penetration, line handling, and advanced risk management. Both courses combine theory, hands-on practice, and open water dives under direct instructor supervision.

Quality over Quantity — the focus is on safe, correct procedures, hazard awareness, and real-world practice. You will demonstrate competence in all required skills before certification.

Logistics & Prerequisites

Included:

  • Digital learning materials (Wreck and/or Wreck Advanced module)
  • Two open-water dives per course
  • Certification (eCard) after passing
  • Use of reels, lines, and specialty equipment for course dives (if available)

Not Included:

  • Rental base equipment (BCD, reg, suit, etc.) — All rental gear is not included in the price
  • Gases and fills

Requirements:

  • Wreck:
    • Min age: 15 years
    • Certification: Open Water 20 or equivalent
  • Wreck Advanced:
    • Min age: 15 years
    • Certification: Wreck Specialty or equivalent
  • Medical: Fit for diving, medical questionnaire completed
  • Registration: Complete online registration and documentation before practical session

Training Schedule

  1. Theory: Complete e-learning module and quiz Wreck and/or Advanced
  2. Equipment Workshop: Reel, line, and light setup and checks
  3. Open Water: Two open-water dives per course external survey, mapping, limited penetration for Advanced
  4. Assessment: Demonstrate all required skills and pass the final knowledge review

Notes:

  • Instructor/student ratio: 1:2
  • Certification is awarded upon successful demonstration of all skills and knowledge
  • Wreck Advanced is recommended for divers planning penetration or technical wreck diving

Never enter a wreck without proper training, equipment, and a continuous guideline. Always assess hazards and have a clear exit plan.
