Course Overview

The Master Instructor course is the highest level of instructor training. It prepares experienced instructors to mentor, evaluate, and develop other instructors and Divemasters. You will master advanced teaching techniques, course planning, evaluation, and in-water problem-solving for professional-level students. The course combines eLearning, instructor workshops, and practical teaching experience under direct Instructor Trainer supervision.

Quality over Quantity — the focus is on safe, correct procedures, didactics, and real-world problem-solving. You will demonstrate competence in all required skills and teaching scenarios before certification.

Requirements:

  • Min age: 18 years
  • Certification: Instructor
  • Experience: 200 certifications, 500 dives, 2 years teaching
  • Medical: Fit for diving, medical questionnaire completed
  • First Aid/O2 Instructor: Current certification
  • Insurance: Instructor liability insurance (where applicable)
  • Registration: Complete online registration and documentation before practical session

Training Schedule

  1. Theory: Complete e-learning module and quiz
  2. Workshops: Teaching presentations, evaluation, leadership, mentoring, problem-solving
  3. Confined Water: Skills demonstration, rescue, evaluation
  4. Open Water: Teaching, demonstration, rescue, evaluation
  5. Assessment: Demonstrate all required skills and pass the final knowledge review

Notes:

  • Instructor/student ratio: 1:2
  • Certification is awarded upon successful demonstration of all skills and teaching scenarios
  • Master Instructor is a prerequisite for Instructor Trainer programs
