Course Overview

The Try Dive Instructor course prepares Divemasters and Instructors to safely conduct Try Dive experiences. You will master the use of the Try Dive Flip Book, learn to brief and supervise new divers, and demonstrate all required skills. The course combines eLearning, workshops, and practical teaching experience under direct Divemaster Instructor supervision.

Quality over Quantity — the focus is on safe, correct procedures, clear communication, and real-world supervision. You will demonstrate competence in all required skills and teaching scenarios before certification.

Requirements:

  • Min age: 18 years
  • Certification: Divemaster or recognized agency Instructor, in-date
  • Registration: Complete online registration and documentation before practical session

Training Schedule

  1. Theory: Complete e-learning module and quiz
  2. Workshops: Try Dive Flip Book, briefings, safety, supervision
  3. Confined Water: Skills demonstration, rescue, evaluation
  4. Open Water: Instructors only Teaching, demonstration, rescue, evaluation
  5. Assessment: Demonstrate all required skills and pass the final knowledge review

Notes:

  • Divemaster Instructors may only certify Try Dives in confined water
  • Instructors may certify Try Dives in confined or open water max. 12m
  • Instructor/student ratio: 1:2
  • Certification is awarded upon successful demonstration of all skills and teaching scenarios
